Escape Artist

Because our cat, Rosie, has been so adept at getting past the plastic zipper door to escape the basement, the folks at Meadowlark made this sign to post on our zipper door.

Stacking heavy objects at the door when the crew is gone, and counting on the noise from the crew to discourage Rosie has worked so far, but it’s only been one day. We’ll have to wait and see.

We spent time over the weekend looking at paint colors. We’ve made some selections, but not finalized them yet. There are some details to work out, and we are hoping there may be some ways to help us visualize what these colors will look like when they’re all put together.

They cut a big hole in the ceiling above the main living space.

My understanding is that there were 3 small spots in that area that needed patching, and it made more sense to replace that section than to patch the individual spots. This was an opportunity to see just how much space there is in the attic at the peak in this area.

They got the framing set for the little nook of shelves we’re going to have in our hallway. It might take a little work to imagine it from the photo, which at first glance might look like just a maze of wooden studs, but it’s there. I got a closeup of the base of it to make it a bit clearer.

I expect there is a lot of work being done that is not immediately visible to our untrained eyes. Still, this week should be mostly inspections, but there might also be some rough electrical to do. I’m still hoping for good news on our ceiling fans.
