Moher

September 25, 2009
My cold was a bit better on the day we left Dingle, but still quite bad for the long drive up to Galway. Still, we took the Shannon ferry from Tarbert to Kilimer so we could take in the Cliffs of Moher on the way. Just before we got to the cliffs, we stopped at a scenic looking beach where we saw people kiteboarding (or kitesurfing). I think it was in Liscannor, but I’m not sure. I snapped some pictures, then we continued on to the cliffs. We all walked to the lookout point for the main view, then Martha and I managed to hike up to one end and then the other before the rain came in. We met Mom and Dad back at the gift shops. I took plenty of pictures, which I will be posting soon.

We settled in at the Roncalli House B&B, and then got some dinner at a place called Lohan’s. I was pretty beat up from the cold, but seemed to be turning a corner. Sleep came easier that night than on the previous night.

So that was yesterday. Today I’m feeling much better, but just to make extra sure, I took Karen’s advice and picked up some zinc lozenges at a local chemist’s, and I’ve been giving them to my traveling companions as well as a preventative measure.

Dad felt like staying at the B&B today, maybe taking walks and checking out the lovely garden they have here, while Mom, Martha, and I took a walk into Galway. We spent some time checking out the many shops and street performers, and stopped to eat some pot pies and soup.

So, feeling much better, and now I’m caught up on my blog. Soon I’ll be caught up on posting photos.
