Paint Stain and Power

A lot of progress has been made at the end of last week and today, but I’ve been too preoccupied to make an entry until now. One of our two cats has been ill with kidney problems over the last few weeks, and last night she passed away. We are very sad, but also very grateful that little Gypsy was a delightful part of our lives for 11 years, and that her fluffy sister is still with us.

It may seem strange to talk about this in the middle of a blog about our home remodel, but our cats have been a part of this from the start, and they are a part of this story. Gypsy will be missed.

Painting has continued, bringing color to the walls of Martha’s office, the kitchen, and the main living space.

I put together the other bar stools and decided to see what they look like in their proper location.

That was at the end of last week. Today, the handrails for the stairway were stained. The fumes were really bad, and though diminished, the smell is still with us.

Lights, electrical outlets, and switches have been added to the kitchen, bathroom, and other areas.
