Sanding Priming and Cabinets
on: 6/25/2026So there were som additional problems with the mudding that needed to be resolved before priming for paint could proceed. The sounds of mudding I heard 2 days ago was some kind of touchup, but sanding did not start that day because mud from the previous day had not dried due to high humidity. A dehumidifier and a bunch of fans were brought in to make sure that everything would dry and sanding could be done the following morning.

The sanding was indeed done yesterday morning, and it was not bad at all. I was expecting a lot of dust, and there was a lot upstairs, but all of the preparation paid off so that there was minimal dust down in the basement. I barely noticed it.
As soon as the sanding was done, the first stage of priming the walls for paint began. There was more priming today, plus the cabinetry was delivered.

There’s quite a lot of it. Tomorrow, the painter will make some finishing touches, and then it should be all set for flooring next week. Even with the hiccup, we are still on schedule.
